Weekly Wrap Up

Week 20

1 of 9 answered correctly.

First to answer: Bruce T.

Lightning strikes twice! Bruce is once again the only person to solve this week's brain teaser and takes a commanding 6 point lead over second place. We've completed two-thirds of the challenge with the last ten weeks featuring two brain teasers each week. Can Bruce hang on to win it all? Or will any of the other top solvers make a comeback? Good luck next week!

Week 19

1 of 12 answered correctly.

First to answer: Bruce T.

What a difference a week makes. In a stunning turn of events, Bruce is now the #1 ranked solver by being the only person to solve this week's brain teaser. After leading the pack for 13 weeks, Joleen and Linda fall to #2 by just 1 point. However, it's not over yet. The next two weeks are short weeks, plus week 21 starts the 2 brain teasers per week. Congrats to Bruce, for now.

Week 18

9 of 9 answered correctly.

First to answer: Tim F.

So, even with an easy one this week, only the top 9 solvers gave an answer. Tim was the first to give the correct answer this week (first-time).  Happy 3-day weekend.

Week 17

8 of 8 answered correctly.

First to answer: David S.

We had to break out the protractors this week, but the top 8 did it again. David was the first to answer this week (for the first time), and there are only 3 weeks left until we start two brain teasers a week.

Week 16

7 of 7 answered correctly.

First to answer: Linda and Joleen

The top 7 solvers all got it right this week (no surprise there), and unless someone comes out of left field and makes a miraculous run, it looks like one of the top 7 solvers will be this year's champion. It's still way too close to call. Anything can happen.

Well, we are officially halfway through this year's challenge. We also had two firsts this week, with Bruce being the first to answer (for the first time this year) and a correct answer from Fred G., a first time solver.

Week 14

8 of 8 answered correctly.

First to answer: Linda and Joleen

Happy New Year!

Looks like we're picking up where we left off, with the top 8 solvers submitting correct answers this week. Just one incorrect answer could change the whole game.  The next few weeks will be very interesting.

Week 13

12 of 12 answered correctly.

First to answer: Justin G.

We ended the month of December with an easy one. Two new solvers (Justin and Jackie) were the first to answer this week, while while the top 7 were a little cautious.  The good news is that we get a week off before the next brain teaser is posted on January 3rd.  Have a happy holiday season and a great new year.

Week 12

0 of 8 answered correctly.

First to answer: none

It doesn't happen very often, but it did this week. No one was able to give the correct answer, leaving a great opportunity for someone to jump ahead this week.  There were even a few newcomers who couldn't get it right. Oh well, there's always next week!

Week 11

7 of 8 answered correctly.

First to answer: Linda and Joleen

This one took a while to answer. Although Linda and Joleen were first to submit the correct answer, it didn't come until Thursday.  Sue and Meghan are with 3 points of the leaders, while Jordan and Christine jump to 5 place over Bruce.

Week 9

11 of 12 answered correctly.

First to answer: Sue and Meghan

The top 7 solvers answered this week's math brain teaser with no problem. David S. is now ranked #8, while Tim F. is all alone at #10.  Anna B. and Scott C. joined the challenged this week, making 20 people to answer at least one brain teaser correctly this year. With Thanksgiving coming up next week, we'll postpone the Week 10 brain teaser until November 28th.

Week 8

9 of 9 answered correctly.

First to answer: Sue and Meghan

With 7 of 9 people answering this brain teaser within a few hours after it was posted, we can assume that this was way too easy.  We'll try not to make that mistake next week. In the meantime. Joleen and Linda stay perfect, while Tim has cracked the top ten right behind David.

Week 5

2 of 7 answered correctly.

First to answer: Linda and Joleen

It's been almost 3 years since someone other than Sue or Meghan has been in first place.  However, it's not a sprint. It's a marathon, and there are still 25 weeks to go. But congrats to Joleen and Linda for getting 4 points this week.

Week 4

6 of 6 answered correctly.

First to answer: Sue and Meghan

At this point last year, Sue and Meghan were in first place with 6 points each. This year, there are 8 people in first place with four points each. I guess it's time to shake things up for Week 5.

Week 3

8 of 8 answered correctly.

First to answer: Sue and Meghan

Only about half of the solvers from last week were able to solve this week's brain teaser. Although the champs were first to solve for the second week in a row, 6 others are still keeping pace. Are the math brain teasers to hard or did the others not realize that the deadline was Thursday and not Friday?

Week 2

15 of 15 answered correctly.

First to answer: Sue and Meghan

It looks like the champs (Sue and Meghan) have some company.  Two person teams are forming in a strategic move to beat the champs at their own game.  5 more solvers have joined the challenge this week, including Janice W. and G B.

Week 1

12 of 12 answered correctly.

First to answer: Joleen & Linda

With 2-time champion Sue A. finishing strong in the last 3 challenges, a few new and familiar challengers are looking to put an end to her streak.  Meghan H. (2010 Champion) has returned, along with Jonathan H. (3rd place in 2011).  Look for Bruce T. to be a tough competitor this year, as well as Jordan G. and Christine M.
